Sociology in Michigan: Understanding Society and Shaping the Future
The Michigan Sociological Association's call deadline for paper submissions is October 3rd, 2026.
We are looking for submissions for presentations or panels from scholars, students, community members, and activists. Papers may address the conference theme or any other sociology-related topics; we encourage submissions from diverse theoretical and methodological approaches.
We are looking for session on the topics below, but we will add addtional sections for other paper topics:
Immigrantion, Boarder Relations, and ICE
Media and Culture
Social Movements and Social Justice
Sociology of Medicine
DEI, CRT, and LGBTQIA
Race and Ethnicity
Education in Sociology
Student Paper Session - both for graduate and undergraduate students
Society and Mental Health
America: How Did We Get Here?
The Sociology of Community College
Environmental Justice
Sociological Theory and Methods
If you have further questions, or, if you wish to organize a session or round table, please submit proposals (three-page maximum) with the session title, a summary of its scope, a list of participants with their affiliations and email addresses, and titles of the papers with brief abstracts.
