The Michigan Sociological Association gives three major professional awards annually:

The Charles Horton Cooley Award for distinguished scholarship in Sociology

The Marvin Olsen Award for distinguished service to Sociology in Michigan or service to the MSA
-
The Larry T. Reynolds Award for outstanding teaching of sociology
-
Additional special awards and citations are occasionally bestowed on other deserving individuals.
Nominations for these annual awards are accepted from any MSA member. Please email Chuck Bowden your nomination and a succinct explanation of why you feel the nominated person deserves the award. All nominations must be received by June 30th for consideration.
